Red Wine Prime Rib Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 prime rib roast
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 6 slices bacon
- 2 tbsp red wine
- 6 mushroom caps
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1 tbsp flour
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Season the prime rib with the garlic powder, salt, pepper and parsley. Put the bacon slices on top of the prime rib and place the prime rib into the oven for 45-60 minutes or until done. Meanwhile, create the prime rib sauce by heating the butter in a saucepan and sauteing the mushrooms. Add the red wine into the mushrooms and thicken with the flour. Pour the prime rib sauce over the prime rib and slice to serve.
Onion Smothered Beef Prime Rib
Ingredients:
- 1 beef prime rib roast
- 1 small onion sliced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 can beef broth*
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Season the beef prime rib with salt and pepper. Place the prime rib into the oven with the onion slices on top. Cover the roast pan and roast the beef prime rib for 2-2.5 hours. Pour the fat from the roasting pan into a saucepan and add flour and beef broth to thicken. Pour the sauce over the prime rib to serve.
*Beef broth can be subsitutued for beef bullion dissolved in water!
Traditional Slow Roasted Prime Rib with Vegetables
Ingredients:
- 1 prime rib roast
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 tsp tarragon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 beef bouillon
- 1 cup water
- 6 baby tomatoes
- 2 large potatoes skinned and diced
Directions:
Slow roasted prime rib can be created using a slow cooker! Start by placing the prime rib roast, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, tarragon, salt, pepper, beef bouillon, water, tomatoes and potatoes in a large crock pot. Allow the meat to slowly cook on high for about 3-4 hours. Remove the prime rib roast from the crock pot and slice into 2 inch steaks and serve with the sauce on the side.
