Easy Traditional Roasted Prime Rib
Ingredients:
- 1 Prime Rib Roast
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rub the prime rib roast with flour and sprinkle it with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place the prime rib roast, fat side up, in a roasting pan. Roast in the oven for 3.5-4 hours, or about 20 minutes per pound. Temperatures measured with a meat thermometer should range from 140 - 160 degrees for rare to well done. Slice the roasted prime rib into 2-3 inch thick steaks and serve with your favorite greens.
Apricot Sauce for Prime Rib Roast
Ingredients:
- 1 Prime Rib Roast
- 2 cups apricot preserves
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp orange juice
- 1 tbsp salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. To prepare the apricot sauce for prime rib, heat the apricot preserves, cinnamon, orange juice and salt on medium until the mixture is completely combined and smooth. Pour half of the apricot mixture over the prime rib roast and place the roast on a medium roasting pan. Then put the prime rib roast into the oven for 50-60 minutes. Allow the prime rib roast to cool about 10 minutes before cutting to finish internally cooking. Slice the prime rib roast into 1 inch thick steaks and pour the remaining apricot mixture over all the slices. Serve immediately with dinner rolls and your favorite potato recipe.
Prime Rib Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 2 Prime Rib steaks
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 1 small onion
- 12 mushrooms
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup buttermilk ranch dressing
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
To make a prime rib sandwich, heat 1/2 tbsp olive oil and saute onions and mushrooms until onions are soft and translucent. Chop the prime rib steaks into 1/4 inch slices. Heat the remaining olive oil in another saucepan an cook sliced prime rib steaks for 5-7 minutes. Divide prime rib meat into four in the pan and place onion and mushroom mixture on top of each pile. Cover each pile with mozzarella cheese, cover saucepan, and simmer on low until cheese is melted. Spread ranch dressing on hoagie rolls and put finished meat into roll. Slice each prime rib sandwich in half and serve immediately.
